What's New in v1.2.1

Binaural WAV export

You can now export your ADM file as a binaural stereo WAV, rendered using the same HRTF processing as the real-time binaural monitoring mode. The export uses an optimised offline renderer for faster-than-realtime performance, with a progress overlay showing render timecode and percentage. Custom SOFA HRTFs are fully supported — the export uses whichever HRTF profile is active at the time.

Exported files are 48 kHz 24-bit stereo WAV.

In-app updates

When a new version of Orbit is available, an update banner appears at the top of the main window. You can download the update DMG directly in-app — with progress tracking — and open it without leaving Orbit. The banner can be dismissed per-version and won't nag you if you choose to skip an update.

The About window also shows update status and provides a manual check button.

Sample rate switching

Fixed a known issue from v1.2.0 where loading a file with a different sample rate (e.g. 96 kHz after 48 kHz) could fail. Orbit now automatically switches the audio device sample rate to match the loaded file before initialising the engine.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a crash when exporting advanced PDFs for long files where the waveform rendering could exceed page bounds.
  • Fixed binaural monitoring crash when loading custom SOFA files on macOS Tahoe.
  • Fixed PDF waveform rendering for long-duration ADM files.
