Getting Started

Welcome to Orbit Lite. This page will have you playing back an ADM file in under a minute.

Quick start

  1. Launch Orbit Lite and activate your license via the initial screen or Orbit Lite → Manage License.... (Need a license? Visit orbitspatial.io.)
  2. Click Load ADM and choose an ADM BWF file.
  3. Wait for the file to load — you'll see metadata (name, channels, duration, sample rate, bit depth, frame rate) once ready.
  4. Press Play (or click Pause/Stop to control playback).
  5. Choose a monitoring mode: 7.1.4 for speakers, Binaural for headphones, Apple Spatial Audio for Apple's spatial rendering, or Stereo for a quick fold-down check.

That's it — you're listening.

Orbit Lite full interface with waveform, transport controls, and monitoring options

Before you begin

  • License: You'll need a license to use Orbit Lite. Visit orbitspatial.io to purchase, then activate via Orbit Lite → Manage License....
  • Output device: Make sure your audio interface or headphones are connected and selected. Use the output configuration to map channels to your device.

For detailed system requirements, see Requirements. For licensing details, see Licensing.

Interface overview

Orbit Lite has a simple, single-window layout:

  • Header bar — File metadata, Load ADM button, transport controls (Pause/Stop), master fader
  • Waveform area — Timeline with playback position and waveform display
  • Footer — Monitoring mode picker, Apple Spatial Audio controls, output configuration

If something goes wrong

File won't load?

  • Confirm the file is an ADM BWF with valid metadata (not just any .wav file)
  • Try a smaller test file to verify your setup

No audio?

  • Check your output device in the output configuration
  • Make sure your monitoring mode matches your setup (e.g., Binaural for headphones)
